Happiness Corner

Our school has been in operation for 99 years, yet it remains uncertain when it will be renovated or replaced. As the building ages, we continue to study in deteriorating classrooms and sports halls with outdated furniture. There is also a lack of dedicated spaces for assignments, group activities, and club meetings. Additionally, our classrooms are cold, and we face shortages of essential resources such as computers, printers, teaching materials, modern books, and internet access.

With the opening of our library, we will gain access to unlimited internet, a comfortable study environment, affordable food and drinks, and opportunities to participate in YSC training, meetings, and competitions. Senior students will also be available to provide guidance and support for academic challenges.

We aim to reduce paper waste and other environmental pollutants. Through our project, 200 children in Zuunmod will use recycled notebooks. Additionally, 45% of the profits from notebook sales will be dedicated to environmental conservation efforts in Manzushir, Zuunmod. This initiative will also make affordable notebooks and exercise books accessible to the local community.

A comfortable environment enhances productivity, yet such spaces are scarce in Bulgan province. Many children and young people often spend time on unproductive activities that can lead to harmful habits. By creating a space dedicated to personal growth and life skills education, they can develop essential abilities in communication, confidence, and stress management, while also gaining knowledge in family planning, sexual health, and financial literacy. Additionally, when children take part in preparing and teaching lessons, it strengthens their skills and fosters peer learning, creating a supportive and enriching community.

Every day, a significant amount of food and organic waste is generated, and when left unused, it contributes to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, urban soil is becoming weaker and less fertile due to human activity and wind erosion. We envision a future where every household and organization composts organic waste to nourish soil, grow trees, and enhance greenery. However, few people know how to do this effectively. By teaching simple and affordable composting methods, we can help build a healthier, greener city.

Food Is Not Waste

A significant portion of urban solid waste comes from food waste, yet many people are unaware of its impact or how to repurpose it. Currently, only 17-20% of total waste in our country is recycled, and food waste is not recycled at all. Most people lack knowledge about composting or its benefits. Our project seeks to educate communities on food waste from multiple perspectives, promote waste reduction, and encourage recycling to minimize its harmful effects on the environment.

By reusing greywater, we can reduce water waste at school.

1. Reusing rainwater to prevent the road and open areas in front of the school from being damaged or worn down by water. 2. Using greywater to water and care for the trees and plants. Highlighting: Our schoolyard has over 100 trees and flowers of five types, but we rarely water them. They should be watered 2-3 times every five days, filling their bases completely. 3. Our school uses 446 tons of clean water and 446 tons of wastewater each month, totaling 892 tons. This costs 2,784,166 MNT. If our project succeeds, we firmly believe that we can reduce this cost.

One of the biggest challenges for students in Mongolian secondary schools is choosing the right career path. A wrong career choice can lead to dissatisfaction, a lack of necessary skills, job quitting, and even unemployment.

3. Labor market factors (salary expectations, oversaturated fields) 4. Influence of society and parental expectations 5. Exam scores (YESH)

Our project addresses the issue of labor exploitation among teenagers. Many struggle to find jobs, and when they do, their work is often undervalued. We aim to create fair and suitable job opportunities for young people, monitor child labor practices, and reduce exploitation.
